PH is classified into 5 different groups, depending on the underlying cause and predicted response to specific treatments ...The diagnosis of PH is frequently delayed as the symptoms associated with this condition are often confused for other respiratory or cardiac conditions. These symptoms can include fatigue, shortness of breath, chest pain, palpitations, dizzy spells, faints and leg swelling ...
With the support of the Mater Misericordiae Hospital and the ERHA, a specialised centre for pulmonary hypertension was established at the Mater Hospital in 2003. The PH unit is the national referral and treatment centre for those diagnosed with PH in Ireland....
PHA Ireland was established in 2005 as a patient support organization raising the profile of pulmonary hypertension and providing help and information for people who are diagnosed and living with this disease in Ireland and their carers/families. It is under the auspices of The Mater Hospital Foundation
There are numerous positive effects of physical activity and exercise on health, including improved muscle strength, bone denisty and walking distance. Furthermore physical activity can contribute to overall wellbeing and improve sleep, reduce fatigue and assist with weight management, translating to a better quality of life.....
