Preparing for your Appointment

For all appointments:

  1. Please arrive 30 minutes before your appointment time.
  2. Please ensure that you have the following information to hand:
    • Name, Address and Telephone number of your local Pharmacy.
    • Name, Address and Telephone number of your General Practitioner
    • Medical card or health insurance details
    • A list of all medications that you are currently taking
    • A copy of any recent blood tests or other investigations that you have had done in the weeks before your appointment.

Your first consultation – what to expect:

Our clinic is currently located in Clinic 1 in the Whitty building, which can be accessed via the Eccles street and North Circular Road entrances.

Once you arrive at clinic and have registered with our secretary, you will then be reviewed by the pulmonary hypertension clinical nurse specialists and physician. A full clinical history and examination will take place, blood tests will be taken and we might also perform a walk test (called a six-minute walk test), so we recommend that you wear comfortable shoes to your appointment. We are happy to answer any questions that you might have.

What happens next?

Following your initial consultation we will make an individualised plan. This might consist of further investigations or education or the initiation of specific treatment. This plan and subsequent follow up in our clinic is made on a person by person basic and we will communicate all of this clearly on the day at the end of your assessment.
